Lana Del Rey to Move Into Film?

If what Australian Vogue covergirl Lana Del Rey tells the magazine is true, her Born to Die album—not to mention her H&M ads debuting this fall—may be her last. In the upcoming October issue, she says, “When I was starting, I had a vision of being a writer for film and that’s what I am doing now. I’m so happy…Hopefully I will branch into film work and stay there. That will be my happy place. I’d like to stay in one place for a long time.”

Here’s hoping the vulnerable one—who also describes trembling onstage and touching the audience, who pass her plush toys—is only trying to give the magazine good quote. Her SNL performance wasn’t so abominable that it should seal her fate. H&M, meanwhile, is doing its part to keep her in the game, releasing a campaign video of her singing Blue Velvet, a cover Bobby Vinton’s 1963 classic. It’s set to be released September 19, with a shortened version shown later in a TV spot.
