Putting the House in the Maison

Having an all-Margiela closet has always topped our wish list, second only to becoming Dolly Parton’s PA. That said, last night’s Resurrection-curated Margiela installation offered a much-needed vicarious glimpse of said fantasy. Using a spec apartment as the exhibition space, Resurrection owners Katy Rodriguez and Mark Haddawy literally put the house in the Maison, culling pieces from the vast collection of the late Marcia Berger and hanging them floor-to-ceiling on white walls.

Guests Debbie Harry, Humberto Leon and Hamish Bowles lingered among the 20 years worth of artisanal ephemera, which included quite possibly the dopest black leather biker jacket ever, and a puffy trench that could have doubled as a comforter—Snuggies be damned! Starting tomorrow, select items will be available on 1stdibs.com and at Resurrection’s L.A. and New York boutiques, including over 100 pairs of boots and Tabi split-toe shoes, so we suggest hoofing it over there stat.
