Respect for Jamaica’s Underclass

Turns out photographer Pieter Hugo’s fantastic images of Jamaican porn actors, sex workers, and assorted ‘gully queens’ — so named for the large drain underneath the city of Kingston in which they live — wearing archival pieces by Hood By Air were just the beginning.

Hugo and Hood By Air designer Shayne Oliver just debuted a capsule collection during Art Basel in Miami — in a launch party at the Delano hotel with performances by Oliver, Ian Isiah, Total Freedom, Laina (Mr. Vacation), and Princess Nokia.

Featuring seven oversized, raglan-sleeved tees printed with the Jamaica project, the collection is available for purchase ($300 each) from HBA’s website.
