Circus Act: Schiaparelli Couture Fall 2016

For Schiaparelli couture, designer Bertrand Guyon had the clever idea to reimagine Elsa Schiaparelli’s iconic Circus collection from 1938.

That meant column gowns beaded with acrobat and carousel motifs, jester-like pouf shorts in silk jacquard, and a return to Schiaparelli’s beloved shade of pink — shock pink, of course.

Other totems of the surrealist designer made appearances as well, namely butterflies, peacocks, and floating eyes.
