Survival of the Fit: Alexander McQueen Men’s Fall 2016
For men, Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton never strays far from hard-bodied haute tailoring, the calling card of the label’s namesake.
This sort of studied evolution drew her to Charles Darwin himself, the gentleman naturalist and quintessential Englishman. Florals, butterflies, and a four-legged species of unspecified origin fluttered and frollicked across the most formal of sharp Victorian suits (including a stunning red tailcoat), camel coats, and argyle sweaters.
Naturally it wouldn’t be a McQueen collection without an element of punk, which here cam in the form of safety-pin cheek jewelry.
