Chanel as Cinema

An ode to midcentury Italian films, as set in Paris yet held at the Cinecittà in Rome, could only be Chanel’s latest Métiers d’Art show, courtesy of Karl Lagerfeld (he of another Roman institution, the house of Fendi).

Think Fellini, Antonioni, Visconti — because, you know, Coco Chanel herself dressed many of the great actresses of Italy’s great cinematic heyday…
