Jil Sander Has a New Creative Director (Again)
His name is Rodolfo Paglialunga and he hails from Vionnet (as creative director) and, before that, Prada (women’s design director). He’s the latest incoming talent in a bizarre revolving door that saw the house’s namesake designer depart for the third time in late 2013, which followed Raf Simons’ departure in 2012 after a seven-year stint.
It’s expected Paglialunga, who’s known for a sophisticated arty look, won’t veer far from Jil Sander’s DNA, with its emphasis on quality fabrics. Working out of Jil Sander’s Milan headquarters, Paglialunga will begin his tenure with the spring 2015 collection in September.
