The Yves Saint Laurent Biopic to Premiere at Cannes

We first reported back in 2012 that the absurdly hot French actor and sometime model Gaspard Ulliel would play Yves Saint Laurent in an upcoming French-language biopic. Then came news the film would premiere at Cannes next month (and arrive in French theaters October 1). Now come a few advance stills from the film, proving that Ulliel is indeed absurdly hot. As he bares more than a passing resemblance to YSL, this can only mean, through simple deductive logic, that the designer must have had some kind of sexual charisma going on, too.

Called Saint Laurent (the same shortened title preferred by Hedi Slimane), the film follows the late icon during the pivotal and tumultuous time between the late 1960s and 1976, the year of his his famous Russian collection. It co-stars Léa Seydoux as his muse Loulou de la Falaise, Jérémie Renier as his partner Pierre Bergé, and Louis Garrel as his plaything Jacques de Bascher, while Bertrand Bonello — who’s no stranger to Cannes (The Pornographer, Tiresia) — directs.
