Leather Landscape: Juun J. Men’s Fall 2014
It was almost as if Korean men’s designer Juun J. decided to put as many animal hides as possible into one collection, because his latest and greatest featured leather as far as the eye could see. Every look managed to integrate the stuff in some way, shape or form.
The collection started strong with lambskin trousers offered up in every shade of skinny. These figure-hugging slacks were paired with matching leather shirtfronts and tuxedo jackets — trimmed with the same leather, of course. There was a brief intermission of zoot suit-like ensembles and trench coats, which were shown with a baggy cropped trouser. But the hiatus was brief, and the collection roared on with everything from cowhide trousers to knee-grazing raccoon fur coats.
For the finale, models strutted out in matching leather parkas and tracksuits with vibrant art-deco details.
