Now The Row Is Booking Senior-Citizen Models
Move over Carmen Dell’Orefice and Iris Apfel; there’s a new silver-haired queen on the scene. Her name is Linda Rodin and she stars in The Row’s pre-fall 2014 look book, sporting a variety of jaunty yet age-appropriate pieces and looking downright Amish — in the chic way! — in one floor-length black dress with a T-neck, worn with black hose and loafers.
The 65-year-old stylist, Long Island native, Italophile, and founder of the celebrity-adored Olio Usso line of fragrances is joined by models Ursula Wallis and Esther de Jong, who represent the 80s and 90s. That the industry continues to abandon its longstanding ageism is quite refreshing. Classic ladies belong in classic labels.
