The Prada Marfa store in Texas may be in trouble, but Prada Oasis is alive and well in a Qatari desert. For the opening of Damien Hirst’s retrospective in Doha last week, the artist collaborated with Miuccia Prada on a Bedouin-like tent displaying his Entomology bags, Prada bags embellished with jewel-encrusted beetles and auctioned to benefit an educational charity.

A second tent recreated the juice bar in Hirst’s now-defunct London restaurant Pharmacy. Both Prada Oasis and Pharmacy Juice Bar popped up last week in the desert north of Doha under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani, chairperson of Qatar Museums Authority.
