Hedi Slimane is done with grunge at Saint Laurent. Now he’s playing with dressing up, Dynasty-style. His lanky, bleached-hair beauties came out in over-the-top evening pieces that could have come straight from Krystle Carrington’s wardrobe, or Alexis’ — they’ll have to fight for the crown. Other looks were so intentionally louche and sexed-up, like a leopard-print mini-skirt or a leather biker jacket, they could have only been worn by Sammy Jo. Still other looks were borrowed from the men’s closet, second-skin tuxedoes with skinny ties that recalled Slimane’s time at Dior Homme. If Yves Saint Laurent could redo the 80s, a decade that was not his greatest, this is probably what he’d do.
