Fusion Power: Cédric Charlier Spring 2014
If the smoking jacket and Japanese kimono had a rendezvous, the result would be the main silhouette featured in Cédric Charlier’s spring 2014 collection. Slick-haired models were swallowed whole in box-shaped, notched-collar jackets, accompanied by everything from cropped wide-leg slacks to asymmetrical pencil skirts.
The East-meets-West collision made way for structured leather pieces and a couple of ethereal blazers. Just when we thought the collection was going to be a monochromatic endeavor, the Belgian-born designer surrendered to boldly striped separates, offering a defiant splash of orange.
