Here is Anna Wintour’s Instagram debut — on Vogue’s Instagram, to be precise. The photo, taken by Vogue.com photographer Taylor Jewell, shows the magazine’s editor-in-chief and Conde Nast’s new creative director peering out from behind the September issue in her trademark shades and bob.

It might come us a small shock for unsuspecting social-media denizens (boo!), but not even she can see through computer screens — yet. And it’s quite logical that she’d want to promote the magazine (and, incidentally, Phillip Lim), even inviting readers to take their own selfies and send them to #voguestagram. Despite the leap into cyber-space, however, La Wintour still has her email read to her, as far as we know.
