The Great Gatsby, Deconstructed

Except for the Prada and Brooks Brothers, virtually everything in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby was done with a green screen. Much more than you probably think. To prove the power of digital enhancement, the film’s visual effects supervisor, Chris Godfrey, has put out a video compilation of the more scenic scenes before and after post-production graphics. Fittingly, Lana Del Rey’s track plays in the background, with its haunting lyric “Will you still love me when I’m no longer young and beautiful?”
