A Store Is Born: Louis Vuitton Venice
While in Venice for the Biennale, why not paddle your gondola over to the new Louis Vuitton flagship? Situated in the heart of the Floating City, the new store houses a wider range of leather goods, luggage, and ready-to-wear than the average LV store. That, and the fact that there is a gallery space, makes the Espace Louis Vuitton Venice the first of its kind in Italy and the sixth in the world.
There’s a reason for the stepped-up presence in Venice. This is the birthplace of fancy footwear some seven centuries ago, and has been where Louis Vuitton shoes have been crafted since 1998; specifically, at its famed Fiesso d’Artico workshop between Venice and Padua. As such, in the new space, the house has also installed an elaborate hanging display of shoes from its fall 2013 collection.
