The Row and Damien Hirst Team Up on $55K Backpacks

Let the furor over The Row’s astronomically priced backpacks begin—again. The Olsens, now with a CFDA Award to stand on, have teamed up with the never-not-controversial Damien Hirst on a repeat of those $39,000 croc bags from last year, complete with the British artist’s trademark spots and prescription pills all over them. Oh, and the price has gone up to $55,000, a portion of which will benefit UNICEF—so, phew. Commissioned by the art site Just One Eye, exactly twelve bags have been made and signed by Hirst. It may sound like something from The Onion, but it’s real.
