Ralph Lauren’s Sandy Response

The Tri-State area is still reeling from the devastation wrought by Sandy. Adding himself to the long list of labels and retailers pledging donations, today Ralph Lauren announced a $2 million gift to aid in relief efforts. The Ralph and Ricky Lauren Family Foundation will donate $1 million to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, while the Ralph Lauren Corporation, through the Polo Ralph Lauren Foundation, will donate the other $1 million. This second donation will be divided between the Robin Hood Relief Fund, the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and local organizations for relief and rebuilding efforts in New Jersey, Connecticut, Long Island and Westchester County. In addition, the company has set up an employee matching program with the American Red Cross for up to $1 million.

“I’m a born and bred New Yorker. I raised my family here and started my business here. The Tri-State area is home to thousands of our employees and our customers and we have a special and personal relationship with the affected areas,” said Ralph Lauren. “We want to support the selfless work of so many agencies, professionals and volunteers and hope that these donations will make it easier for our cities to rebuild and recover.”
