For whatever it’s worth, here’s the trailer for The Canyons. Written by American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis, who tirelessly chronicled the making-of on Twitter, the low-budget film stars Lindsay Lohan in her two-part comeback attempt (the other part is Liz and Dick) and porn star James Deen in his first non-porn role.

The pedigree alone holds a lot of campy promise, plus it’s directed by Paul Schrader, screenwriter of Taxi Driver and American Gigolo. And in Lilo’s defense, she’s a convincing pulp-fiction cougar, if that’s what they were going for. But it’s in the woe-is-me crying snippet that she’s a natural—and there wasn’t even a judge threatening jail time…
