Fulfilling her seasonal promise to both delight and challenge, Miuccia Prada took already mashed-up Japanese silhouettes—i.e. kinder kimonos, gothic kawaii, folds and folds and more folds—and mashed them up even more. Keeping her usual girl nerds utterly sexless and working in a palette of black, white, red and all shades of ombre thereof, she added an all-consuming leitmotif of flowers. Nearly every look, ever piece was florally festooned in some way, whether abstract or realistic, printed or embroidered, womanly or child-like. The shoes, too, which have everyone talking, were a mash-up of all of the above…
