The e-tail pioneers at ASOS aren’t sitting around, basking in the glow of the site’s crazy popularity. For fall, they’re kicking it up a notch, collaborating with the high-performance gurus at Puma on a line, ASOS Black x Puma, that deftly combines urban sport with their own avant-garde aesthetic. Think sporty, stealthy ninjas decked out in trim graphic tees, geometric prints, heat-whisking fabrics, padded vests and jackets, and a palette of night colors accentuated by lighter-flame orange—not to mention all-terrain bags, hats and belts.

The opposite of baggy, the collaboration performs on another level, too. To achieve the ultimate street cred, ASOS’s designers invited filmmaker Ben Newman to join them on a mission to South America, where they documented the daily lives and nightly work of The Pixadores. The Brazilian graffiti collective, with their spray-painted messages of political activism and individual originality, made for the ideal third collaborator. Their hashtag says it all: #beacreator…
