Saint Laurent’s First Campaign Image

Setting a moody new direction, Saint Laurent has dropped its first campaign image in Vogue Hommes Japan, photographed by the house’s new creative director, Hedi Slimane—who’ll debut his first collection on October 1. With its ragged loucheness, the double-spread—featuring musician Christopher Owens, formerly of the California band Girls—is intended to evoke Yves Saint Laurent and Paris in the late 1960s, around the time of the student riots. It’s the first of 15 images by Slimane, a regular photographer to the magazine. (WWD)
