Maison Martin Margiela’s (little) sister label, MM6, is taking New York by storm. After a store opening on Bleecker last month, the brand made its first Fashion Week appearance here on Saturday, and apparently its the first of many more.

The presentation had many of the beloved maison’s familiar quirks, albeit with a more casual, sportif bent. There were space-age metallics on long jackets and an ankle-length sheath, gray chambray button-downs under fishermen’s net cardigans and vests, and sweatshirt suiting with shots of pink and turquoise.

A dash of military inspiration was seen in roomy, cargo-pocketed jackets and an outstanding faded camo print, making for an overall stellar first outing this side of the pond.
