A Store Is Born: Yayoi Kusama at Selfridges

If Yayoi Kusama’s exhibit at the Tate Modern (currently at the Whitney) didn’t give you acid tracers, her dots are dropping right now at Selfridges. Today Louis Vuitton launched a takeover of the store’s 24 windows with a dizzying explosion of the stuff.

Completing the day trip, Kusama has transformed Selfridge’s special project space, the Concept Store, with a patch of still more dots, as well as giant “pumpkin” displays, where Louis Vuitton’s fashion collaboration with the 84-year-old Japanese artist will be available for the next two months.
