New music for the one-track-minded…

No earth-shattering, ground-breaking musical innovation happening in Icky Blossom’s new single, Perfect Vision, but it’s a solid piece of dreary pop nonetheless, reminiscent of Joy Division (produced by Dave Sitek, who’s collaborated with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Santigold). And there’s plenty of breaking going on. Mirrors, dressers, lamps, and kitchen cupboards all get a good slow-mo smashing by a tweaked-out twosome, in between we’re-in-this-alone smooches. We wonder if Gin Blossoms will be a future side project from the Nebraska band…
