Diana Vreeland to Be Honored by Walk of Style

A little like a Hollywood version of a British OBE, next month Diana Vreeland will be posthumously honored for her services to fashion and film with a plaque on Rodeo Drive’s Walk of Style. Following the likes of Tom Ford and Giorgio Armani, she’ll be the 19th recipient of such a plaque, launched in 2003 to commemorate style legends and their contributions to entertainment.

Unveiled by her son, Tim Vreeland, and her granddaughter-in-law, Lisa Immordino Vreeland (and maker of the documentary Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel, debuting this month), the plaque will bear a signature and quotes from the Harper’s Bazaar columnist and Vogue editor-in-chief, legendary for her dramatic sense of style and pithy one-liners. It’s unknown which of her quips will be used; we’d like to submit the following: “I loathe narcissism, but I approve of vanity.”
