Tilda Swinton to Make Her Presence Known at the Paris Collections
Tilda Swinton doesn’t miss Paris Fashion Week, even if she isn’t walking a runway or inspiring a line-up of model doppelgangers (Viktor & Rolf, 2003). Each night from September 29 to October 1 at the Palais de Tokyo, she’ll star in Musée Galliera director and fashion historian Olivier Saillard’s latest conceptual project, a performance called The Impossible Wardrobe. If anyone can pull off an impossible wardrobe, surely it’s Tilda Swinton.
On top of that, a short film by photographer Katerina Jebb of the actress at rehearsal will screen on a continuous loop, also at the Palais de Tokyo. In The Future Will Last a Very Long Time, as it’s called, she plays a lab-coated curator of sorts, examining sartorial artifacts while the faces of the famous historical figures who wore are projected onto her, a ghostly technique the British shutterbug is known for.
