Here’s the teaser single, Angels, from The XX’s much-anticipated sophomore album, Coexist, out in September. While you’d never classify The XX as high-energy, the track is mellower than anyone expected, on a par with a Cocteau Twins lullaby. Still, vague allusions to death keep it from being banal. Besides, for those in need of more oomph, every producer from the band’s native England to Thailand will be pumping out remixes.
