Hint Tip: Basso & Brooke

Fashion would look a whole lot different today if it weren’t for digital printmaking, the technological advance and haute miracle making possible the print-heavy collections of many a label, from Givenchy and Prada to Dries Van Noten and Raf Simons. And few designers are as skilled at the graphic art as the UK duo of Basso & Brooke—one of whom is English (Christopher Brooke), the other Brazilian (Bruno Basso), and together making printed harmony.

Now you can learn from the masters. The 2004 Fashion Fringe winners will, following last year’s success, hold an intensive workshop in a central London location, taking a maximum 25 students through the entire, hair-pulling process of the digital craft. Everything from tedious technical aspects to developing a signature style to perfecting trompe l’oeil will be covered. Ultimately you’ll learn that anything with a surface can be printed. They won’t teach you that in a Scientology class.
