Going for Bullion

Ben Gorham has been to every corner the world in search of inspiration and ingredients for his cultish Swedish fragrance line, Byredo. Surprisingly, however, he hasn’t created a scent based on the Middle East. Until now. With its spicy aroma taken from a combination of pink pepper, magnolia and sandalwood, among other notes, Buillion is inspired by the “combination of places, food and, most importantly, the people.” Bullion itself doesn’t have a odor, as far as we know, but somehow the analogy works, considering the miraculous wealth of Persian Gulf countries—built with gold of the black kind.

$200 (£130), 100 ml, eau de parfum, Liberty
