The Balenciaga men’s show embodied a distinct Japanese quality, with few shirt collars and not a tie in sight. In their place were baggy sleeves; loose-pleated pants and shorts; a sliver of a belt, some with a looping key chain; blue nautical stripes, both horizontal and vertical, paired with matching kerchiefs; and an orchid print that provided a pop of color in an otherwise 80s palette of black, white, gray, and taupe.
