Prada
The Prada men’s show is always a lovely tease of where Miuccia’s mind is heading for the upcoming season. Maybe she’s over the stern, masculine offerings for fall, or maybe her Metropolitan retrospective led her to revisit the finer days of Prada’s minimalism. But whatever the reason, this was one of Miuccia’s most pared-down showings in almost a decade.
There’s always a focal point in a Prada collection, and this season borders and trims were the detail Miuccia chose to obsess over. There’s not much to be said about a color-blocked polo or a two-tone navy and cobalt tank top, but we reckon that was the point. The silhouettes were repetitive, the styling was spare, and the detailing was reduced to almost nil. Is Miuccia bored? Probably not, but perhaps she’s taking a breather. She’s earned it.
