For resort 2013, Riccardo Tisci propelled the theme to new levels of modernity, taking paisley prints in chiffon or silk and working them into electrifying combinations, contrasting them with graphic black-and-white patterns. The effect was superb, at times hallucinatory, and clearly showed that the Givenchy woman isn’t all goth, samurai and rottweilers. She also has a bit of bohemian in her. But make no mistake, she can still kick your ass.
