A Walk Down Margiela Lane

For most, summer brings with it feelings of nostalgia for the carefree days of their youth, whether canoodling at the beach or loitering at the fair. Three new women’s scents from Maison Martin Margiela call to mind the bygone innocence. The pastel colors of Beach Walk, Flower Market, and Funfair Evening were inspired by Marcel Proust’s famous Madeleine cakes and designed to invoke tween memories that everyone can relate to.

Hints of citrus and pink peppercorn make up Beach Walk, while the aromatic bouquet of freesia, rose petal and jasmine in Flower Market is like a whiff of your mom’s backyard garden. And finally, Funfair Evening, with all its sticky sweet notes of aniseed, apple, caramel and marshmallow, satiates your sweet tooth for all those carnival delicacies. Sans the calories, of course, but no one’s metabolism is what it used to be.
