Playtime with Comme des Garçons

In case you happen to be in the market for an obscure new summer fragrance, you’re in luck. Comme des Garçons, has just released three new versions of their iconic unisex Play perfumes. The concept: no concept. Which isn’t to say there isn’t a concept, because there is one. It’s no concept. Got it?

But like a family of bickering brothers, each scent does carry a distinctly different personality, with formulations reflecting the namesake color of each. Play Red contains red mandarin, cinnamon, pink peppercorn and red cherry accord, while Green Play is made up of a grassy blend of mint nanah, lime, basil and vetiver. Black Play, fittingly, is the most intense of the trio, with black pepper, violet, black tea, incense and tree moss. And if the cult status of Comme’s other stable of fragrances are any indication, you’ll be fighting off a lot more than siblings from swiping your bottle.
