Carine Roitfeld has stayed mum—and soon, a grandmum—about her new magazine. For almost a year now, all there was to go on were vague clues and speculation. Just as vague, in a more recent Q&A with us, she said: “I will try to do another magazine, but not a monthly, something different. I want to see a link between the catwalk and reality. It’s difficult for the woman to understand how to wear the clothes she is seeing on the catwalk.”

But today she spilled a few new beans to WWD. Specifically, the magazine will be a biannual, set to debut in September. And although it will “resemble a book,” it will have no front-of-book, meaning the bitsy news-oriented pieces before the features well. So, it sounds like it’ll be more of an art book than a regular glossy, full of the kind of lavish editorials she’s always done. Really, when you think about it, could it have been anything else?
