New music for the one-track-minded…

A la Christian Bale in American Psycho, Jake Gyllenhaal channels his inner serial killer in this music video for Time To Dance, by the French electro band The Shoes. To an upbeat tempo, chirpy handclaps and cheerleader shouts, he slashes a canoodling couple with a fencing saber, then goes to a club where he slices up another girl, and bludgeons a dude in a bathroom. When he’s not ridding the world of party people, he’s lifting weights at a gym, chain-smoking, licking the end of a coke bag, and generally giving off badass vibes. Directed by Daniel Wolfe, the slasher movie sendup is gruesome stuff, but let’s not forget how annoying hipsters can be.
