The Street-Style Craze Gets a Little Crazier—and a Funny Name

There are all sorts of ways to end up street-style famous. But if you missed the Miu Miu glitter pump moment (oh, now we’ve moved on to the Prada race-car heels?) and you don’t want to lurk outside fashion shows wearing everything in your closet, you’re in luck. Just sign up for the Badoo Project, a three-day photo shoot marathon sponsored by the new social network that does not, in fact, have anything to do with Erykah Badu. From March 22-24, four photogs—Kenneth Cappello, Dan Martensen, Brooke Nipar, Danielle Levitt—will set up a studio at 82 Mercer and snap 1,000 of those who registered. Of those, 24 will be selected to appear on billboards across the New York. “It’s like the ultimate profile picture,” says Nipar. Too bad for Badoo you’ll probably just upload it to Facebook.
