VPL
Victoria Bartlett’s clothes are not for everybody. That’s a given. She doesn’t seek to reinvent herself with each collection, but that’s exactly why her faithful love her. This season, Barlett’s VPL collection had all the usual trademarks: sporty separates and underpinnings in a palette of mostly earthy tones. But it’s the knitwear that really had us paying attention. Simple, wearable pieces like cowl-neck and batwing-sleeve sweaters were mixed with more gray conceptual pieces—not unlike a footballer from the future—along with knit onesies slashed with cutouts here and there. Also of note were the interesting calf-warmers, driving home that sporty message. Just make sure you get in shape before attempting these clothes.
