Money Where Your Mouse Is: Galliano

The big wigs at the house of Galliano are probably hoping for a bit of good news this holiday season. And just in time for Hanukkah, the label has launched its first online store.

Designed by the Level Group and set up like a newspaper, the Galliano Gazette, the site incorporates a diary-style blog and enhanced shopping tools, i.e. “searchandising,” a dynamic suggestion system powered by real-time customer preferences. On offer are Galliano’s fall 11 ready-to-wear and accessories for men and women, ranging from T-shirts (€152) to the ultimate controversy-courting fashion statement, a €234 leather bag with a caricature of the namesake designer, wine glass not included.

John Galliano makes few other appearances on the site. In fact, the brand’s About Us section does all it can to downplay the departed designer, with a portrait and detailed bio of the label’s new creative director, Bill Gaytten.
