More and more fashion films are popping up all the time. Just last night, effectively launching Paris Fashion Week, Proenza Schouler premiered an offbeat short film called Snowballs at David Lynch’s new Silencio club. Created by indie filmmaker and Kids screenwriter Harmony Korine, the video features the fall 2011 collection—with its splashes of bright Navajo patterns on drippy brocades, full-length skirts and drop-crotch trousers—against an eerie-cool soundtrack that includes lyrics like “We dance on raindrops” and “I can crush a whole tree in my hand.” The two young, sometimes topless protagonists sport Native American headdresses and loiter around an unspecified patch of backwoods looking very out of place—and all the more chic for it…
