Tommy Hilfiger

For the second season in a row, Tommy Hilfiger has demonstrated a control over modern dressing. His jumping off point may have been the preppy 1960s, but this collection feels more appropriate for today. A matching leather jacket and slit skirt in burgundy leather could be a ringer for Celine, and horizontal-striped knits like the cowl neck on Karlie Kloss were lively and cool. A parade of tuxedo shirt-dresses in chiffon were jaunty and feminine, and a blush pink number in particular is sure to do well come wedding season this June.

The smart and stylish combo of a piped denim blazer with a vertical-striped trouser is a no-fail pairing, as was a canary jumpsuit with contrasting black lapel. Color-blocked Caribbean colors were used throughout and were surprisingly refined, which isn’t exactly something that comes to mind when you hear “bias-cut multicolor caftan.” Since putting Karl Templer on styling duty last season, there’s been a noticeable rise in Hilfiger’s overall look and attitude. Here’s hoping the pair continues. We want the hits to keep on coming.
