Gucci Hits the Road

If you thought the Italian luxury label had come out with every conceivable accessory, think again. Gucci, known for its high-end leather goods and the enduring allure of red-on-green, will turn heads this Fashion’s Night Out (September 8) with two limited-edition cars.

In a bold collaboration with Italian automaker Fiat, Gucci’s creative director Frida Giannini tries her hand at automotive design. The black-and-white Fiat 400 and all-black 500c feature the brand’s classic interlocking GG logo on the wheels, plenty of Guccissima print throughout its leather interior and, of course, the signature green-red-green racing stripe on a retractable roof.

Giannini cites “neo-classic black and white film” as inspiration. Sleek, uncluttered, and ever-so-retro, Fiat by Gucci makes for the perfect FNO mode of transportation: fashionable, inspired, and small enough to zip through traffic on the big night—a blur of red and green.
