Workwear is all the rage right now, still, and Rei Kawakubo isn’t one to pass up a collaboration. So it was pretty much inevitable that Comme des Garçons would forge a partnership with Bleu de Paname, the contemporary French makers of authentic-style work uniforms inspired by 20th-century engineering feats. Imagine Rosie the Riveter with a jumpsuit made exclusively from Japanese denim.

The Comme de Garçons X Bleu de Paname women’s collection, in deep indigo with pockets aplenty, will be available at Centre Commercial within weeks, but as of this morning, pre-orders are available on Centrecommercial.cc. A menswear collaboration is expected for spring ’12.
