The first look out at Acne, a vintage-looking red knit pullover paired with white shorts, was startling in its retro simplicity. Because really, when you think about it, why not wear tennis shorts with a bright turtleneck? After that came more vintage-y ribbed sweaters, including a simple but fetching navy sweater, along with heaps of denim and references to wetsuits and bicycle shorts, which, despite the sound of it, weren’t appalling at all.
Rounding out the very modern collection were tailored suits based on what could have been a Swedish businessman’s attire from the 70s, with its palette of rich makeup colors that felt whimsical yet sporty, breezy yet classy. The look said “don’t take me too seriously” in a very serious way.
