Rodarte at Pitti
Your first look at Rodarte’s site-specific, neon-light installation showcasing a total of ten gowns at Pitti trade show in Florence, exhibited in a cavernous, disused building in central Florence. Kate and Laura Mulleavy were inspired by Fra Angelico’s frescoes and the monks’ cells at the Convent of San Marco in Florence, as well as Bernini’s The Ecstasy of Saint Teresa in Rome. Says Kate: “Laura and I have been deeply inspired by Florence and its artistic legacy. We have spent countless hours dreaming of the poetic city, every detail magnified by our own curiosity and imagination.”
