the new windows at Bergdorf Goodman, in homage to Alexander McQueen and the much-ballyhooed retrospective at the Met, Savage Beauty, launching with the equally ballyhooed Met Gala on May 2. No fewer than eighteen archival dresses are set against exotic backdrops ranging from a museum of curiosities to a fantasy forest—because it wouldn’t be a proper McQueen tribute without a fantasy forest. With the revelation that Kate Middleton’s white satin wedding gown was designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, it’s pretty safe to say we’re in full-scale McQueen mania.
