…the T-shirt collaboration between Comme des Garçons PLAY and Matt Groening, specifically his original, pre-Simpsons comic strip, Life in Hell. Born in 1977, the strip spawned a soup of anthropomorphized characters: Binky, a depressed rabbit who sees a therapist; Sheba, his ex, whom he met in a coffee shop in 1981; Bongo, Binky’s illegitimate son, the product of a drunken one-nighter; and the ambiguous Akbar and Jeff, who are either brothers, business partners or lovers—or all three. In one way or another, sometimes only through all-over quotes, all of them feature in the short- and long-sleeve tees and totes, along with PLAY’s own anthropomorphized mascot, with his ever-present crossed eyes and heart face.
