Studying the classics is an important part of any education. Simon Doonan and Tim Gunn know this, and they know that for a fashion college it can mean only one thing—watching knee-slapping, high-kicking musicals. On April 5 and 19, respectively, the hosts of Parsons’ latest Fashion in Film series will introduce Smashing Time (1967), a madcap send-up of Swinging London starring recently deceased Lynn Redgrave, and Funny Face (1957), with Audrey Hepburn in one of her most iconic roles, playing an intellectual, reluctant fashion model. It’s not often these gems are shown, for free, on a large screen. Watch and learn.
