Rag & Bone Women’s

David Neville and Marcus Wainwright earned their stripes this season at Rag & Bone, where the mood was something akin to techno tartan. There was also something decidedly Ivy League here, literally in the paneled varsity jackets, but contrasted and layered with an intense futuristic, robotic motif.

In their second show of the day, shortly after their men’s collection, the designers continued bringing together quintessential British, or Scottish, elements—tartan checks, duffel coats, kilts—with a collegiate American rigor. Add to that bright geometric racer stripes and other Tron-like visions of the future, or what we perceive the future to be, and you had something Mary Queen of Scots could have worn to a rave. Or what Alexa Chung or Erin Wasson could wear with ease—and they let each other know as much as they shuffled out of the show.
